Job Title: U18 Girls Team Manager

Responsible to: Chair of Girls Rugby

Overview


The Bucks Rugby U18s Girls Representative Squad Manager will play a key role in delivering a successful age group programme ensuring that the programme framework is developed further from its current outstanding position in the SW division and is delivered correctly and in line with the RFU age grade calendar.

The Manager will report directly to the Chair of Girls Rugby, with acknowledgement to the County DOR and Executive committee.


Key stakeholders to be engaged are the Bucks RFU U18 Coaches and Bucks RFU Medical Team. Additional Stakeholders are the players, their parents, Bucks referees, Buckinghamshire clubs and their interested members as well as the England pathway staff.


This voluntary position provides an excellent opportunity to provide support and leadership within the framework that is the representative County player pathway, working with some of the best female players and Coaches involved in the pathway in Bucks.


The role will cover:


  1. Maintaining an up-to-date player and coach database.

  2. Managing the key transition from DPP and club U16 to 18’s representative rugby.

  3. Inform all stakeholders regarding meetings, coaching sessions, matches and selection via email, social media etc.

  4. Working with the coaching team to provide all administrative support to the age group squad i.e. communication and training, coaching, and playing.

  5. Communicating programme dates and changes to players, schools, clubs, FE establishments.

  6. Work with the Girls chair in respect to costs.

  7. 7)        Organising local and regional player assessments, meetings, coaching sessions and matches as appropriate.

  8. Management of all relevant kit requirements of the squad and coaches following procurement guidelines and agreement procedures.

  9. Together with the Girls Chair, organise all relevant squad venues (training and games), catering, referees, and medical support.

  10. Ensure that all training and match organisation meets the RFU minimum standards for welfare and safety.

  11. Liaise with the Chair of Girls Rugby regarding both the player selection and induction and assist to ensure that the most suitable and skilled coaches are appointed to the process.

  12. Be the focal point of all contact with Players and parents and ensure that all relevant issues are communicated to the appropriate member of the management team e.g. Physio, Lead Coach etc. The team manager will also be responsible for: a) All matters pertaining to player and support team discipline. b) Ensuring that all principles of safeguarding. Medical cover/reporting and H&S are always followed.


About You


  1. Organised and proactive person who has a passion for age grade rugby and player development.

  2. Able to adapt to team budgets constraints.

  3. Has a player centred approach in all contact with players, parents and other stakeholders and understands the management of player transitions through age grades.

  4. Has empathy with the age group of players recognising their needs and aspirations.

  5. Possesses a current driving licence and a valid enhanced DBS disclosure certificate.
