Buckinghamshire Rugby Union Discipline is currently seeking to recruit new members to join its Discipline Panels.
The role involves acting as a panel member for hearings relating to red cards, citings, and alleged breaches of World Rugby Law 5.12 (conduct prejudicial to the interests of the Union and the Game).
Hearings are normally conducted online via Zoom. However, in cases involving more serious matters, hearings may be held in person. Face-to-face hearings take place on Tuesday evenings at Aylesbury Rugby Football Club.
No formal legal or disciplinary training is required for this role, this will be provided. Applicants should have a good knowledge and understanding of the game of rugby, together with sound judgement and the ability to act impartially and objectively.
If this opportunity is of interest, please contact Bob Hardman via bob_hardman@icloud.com.
Please note that Discipline Panel members will not be involved in hearings concerning their own club and must declare and avoid any conflicts of interest in relation to the outcome of a case.
