Buckinghamshire RFU has an exciting opportunity to develop your coaching skill set, we are currently seeking a Lead backs coach to join our already successful County U17’s and U18’s development programme. This will give the successful applicant the chance to work with the most talented players and Coaches in Buckinghamshire!


Role Description:


Lead Backs coach for both U17 & U18’s County boys, working together with Programme Director, Team Manager, Head Coach and Assistant Coaches

 

Purpose:


To work with the allocated age group and its staff, primarily ensuring a positive rugby experience is facilitated for all players involved in the squad.


With the Programme Director and Head Coach, ensures that the appropriate development takes place within preset criteria (as defined within your season coaching and playing plan.


As a COACH


  • Collaborate and support Age Group Director, Head Coach and Assistant. Coaches in the development and delivery of effective and inspirational training and development of our players.

  • Undertake post training and game analysis to develop improvement plan for players and coaching staff.

  • Plan and deliver specific areas of training and player development in line with session and development plans.

  • Provide accurate feedback to players as required.

  • Be able to take on the Head Coach role in their absence.

 

Person Spec:

Have a broad rugby experience, knowledge of the wider youth rugby landscape and to commit to the programme schedule.


  • Qualified to at least (or plan to achieve) level 2 in coaching preferred but not a requirement. Level 2 accreditation required within 1st 12 months of starting.

  • Complete all player welfare courses as indicated.

  • Experienced player or coach with aspiration to develop coaching skills and accreditation.


SKILLSET:


  • Self-motivated, committed, enthusiastic for the development of players.

  • Able to lead & manage people and create a positive working environment.

  • Be punctual, reliable and personally well organised.

  • Has ability to communicate with a broad range of people.

  • Sets high standards of personal accountability and responsibility is an ambassador for Buckinghamshire rugby union and acts as a positive role model for those that you encounter.

  • Ensure that we embrace diversity within our game at every opportunity to ensure our game is as inclusive as possible.

  • IT skills – effective use of email and social media.
