Bucks U18 girls hosted Dorset & Wilts at High Wycombe RFC and came away with a hard fought 15-10 win. Bucks started brightly with some powerful carries into D&W territory and soon took the lead with a try from No. 8 Xaynab. Any attempts from D&W to get back on even terms were thwarted through strong defence and flankers Gabi & Jasmine securing vital turnovers. Midway through the half Bucks scored a second try by setting their pacy backs free and Alicja crossed to make it 10-0 which is how it remained at half-time.

Both teams brought on several fresh players at half-time and once again it was Bucks who capitalised on this first with a superb snipe from replacement scrum-half Immy V-S taking Bucks 15-0 ahead. D&W, who were a strong well organised side, inevitably came back and scored two tries from fielding kicks as Bucks tried to clear their lines, to make it 15-10. D&W piled on the pressure but Bucks defence held firm and after forcing an error, they powered through the resulting scrum winning the penalty. A quick tap and run from Immy V-S followed by a 50m charge upfield from Olivia saw Bucks get back deep into D&W territory. Despite hammering the D&W line for the last few minutes they couldn’t get the score to put the game out of reach but secured the victory.

Prop Olivia was deservedly voted player of the match by the opposition for her dominant scrummaging and superb carrying in the loose. A huge thank you to High Wycombe RFC for hosting the game and to D&W RFU for traveling and playing the game in a great spirit.
